Choosing the right architect is crucial and you’ll only truly get the home of your dreams if you and your architect are on the same wavelength.
Of course, we have a number of highly qualified, trusted professionals that we use regularly across the length and breadth of the countryand we’re more that happy to make recommendations and form introductions should you so wish.
However, for Clients who prefer to use their own professionals, it’s worth bearing in mind that architects need to fully understand the local authority’s planning rules and regulations as well as be completely up to speed on all of the latest building regulations.
If they don’t meet this criteria, the designs they come up with might be absolutely fantastic; but if it can’t be built, you may as well have poured money down the drain.
Also, before you even start speaking to architects, make sure that you really understand what you want from the space you are creating. Think about whether the use you have now for each room will be the same in the future or whether the use might change; perhaps as your children grow up or you retire.
