Lower Marsh Lane

THE PROJECT IN DETAIL:

The Lower Marsh Lane project is a multi-use development site for one of our commercial clients. The project consisted of a steel frame Co-op supermarket with 12 new flats above and 27 semi-detached houses all built from timber frame. The project was split over four phases and took approximately 12 months to complete.

The Co-op was a steel frame at ground floor level with an I-joist separating floor to the flats. The flats above were constructed from factory insulated timber frame panels with a brick outer skin. A mansard roof was utilised for the top floor to allow another floor of accommodation to be installed in the roof.

The houses at Lower Marsh Lane are all three storey town houses using timber frame, metal web joists and hand cut roofs to give the extra space needed for rooms in the roof. All walls were constructed to help achieve a 0.14 w/m2k u-value.
